Rifeng Mountain is a iconic natural landmark and provincial-level forest park in Lichuan County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, China, blending natural scenery with cultural history.
• Geography & Name: With an elevation of approximately 254 meters, Rifeng Mountain is part of the Wuyi Mountain range. It stands out prominently in the relatively flat surrounding area, earning its name "Rifeng" ( meaning "Sun Peak") because it is the first peak to catch the morning sun. Historically, it has also been known as "Wangtian Peak" (望天峰) and "Wenbi Peak" (文笔峰, Literary Brush Peak).
• Nature & Views: Although not very high, the mountain rises steeply, with about a 100-meter vertical climb from its base to the summit. From the top, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Lichuan County and the meandering Litan River. The mountain is covered in lush vegetation, with a forest coverage rate of 91.5%. Key features include hiking trails, pavilions for sightseeing, and a TV transmission station. At the foot of the mountain lies the Xishan Temple.
